DIAMOND BAR, California ? Driver Sung Choe, 53, of Pomona was killed Wednesday morning after he was severely injured in a collision with another car on Brea Canyon Road just north of the Los Angeles and Orange County border, according to a press release issued by the Orange County Sheriff Coroner Department.
Mr. Choe was injured about 7:25 a.m. in the traffic accident, but he died at 8:31 a.m. after being transported to St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, the report said.
California Highway Patrol officers are investigating the car crash to determine the cause of the accident.
According to news reports, police said Choe?s Honda Civic was struck head-on by the 19-year-old driver of a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck as he drove southbound on Brea Canyon Road. The teenager, who is from Murrieta, allegedly drifted to the right shoulder of the road, struck a guard rail and bounced back into the center of the road, according to a press release issued by police. Before it struck Mr. Choe head on, the truck first sideswiped another vehicle.
