Film editor Steven Rosenblum will be awarded the 2011 Franklin J. Schaffner? Alumni Medal at the AFI Life Achievement Award dinner honoring Morgan ?Freeman on June 9 at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver?City.
The honor recognizes the creative talents of a graduate of the AFI? Conservatory or the AFI Directing Workshop for Women.
Rosenblum attended the AFI Conservatory as an editing fellow from 1976-77. During his second year at the AFI, he met Ed Zwick, a directing? fellow, with whom he began a collaboration that spans three decades and has ?included such TV series and films as thirtysomething, Glory, Legends of the ?Fall, Courage Under Fire, The Last Samurai, Blood Diamond and Defiance.
Rosenblum's credits also include Braveheart, X-Men, Pearl Harbor, Journey to? the Center of the Earth and the upcoming How I Spent My Summer Vacation.
He has been nominated for three Academy Awards and won A.C.E. Eddie ?Awards for Glory and Braveheart.?
