Apple's tablet is a top request from kids of all ages
Apple's iPad is one of the?top-selling gadgets of all time, so it should come as no surprise that it tops many wish lists this holiday season. But what may surprise you when it comes to those hoping to see an Apple tablet under the tree this year is just how young they skew. According to a?new report from the Nielsen group, a whopping 44% of?kids between the ages of 6 and 12 are interested in getting an iPad within the next 6 months, making it the most desired gadget amongst that age group.
Last year's study showed that 31% of kids were wishing for the?iPad. The huge jump in interest could be due to effective marketing campaigns, or simply that more children in that age group have had a chance to go hands-on with one in the past year. Other Apple products are enjoying similar buzz with youngsters, with 30% of kids wanting an iPod Touch, and 27% intent on?getting an iPhone. Further down the list are more common wish list items like game consoles and desktop computers.
Kids in the 13-17 age group are similarly excited about Apple's products, with the iPad still coming out on top with 24% purchase intent. The iPhone shows up a bit further down the list with 15%, being beaten out by the likes of televisions, blu-ray players, and e-readers.
