While I admire entrpreneurs and have plans to be one myself, but I think the failure rate is higher than what the chart shows. When I was in law school my biz law prof said the failure rate is more on the order of 8 out of 10 in 3 years.

It looks all so confusing doesn?t it. You need a good cash flow and you have money set aside for the unexpected bumps in the road. In my experience going Franchise is the way to go. You need the support. Then as you can see your survival is much better. Then a weaker or failing business may be acquired near you or for you to relocate to. You may be given first option to purchase especially if you are successful. They don?t want another failure. The failing operator just wants out. With the support of the franchise you can turn it around fast then keep it, sell it and maybe do it again. Three to five years at the earliest because you still owe on the franchise. Buy low then sell high as they say. Doing is much easier than the fear of doing. The ghosts are always with you. Hey, just think your age is not a job concern anymore. Warning, long hours, commitment and listen. Number one industry to consider in my opinion are food products. Other areas perhaps but food products have worked for myself.
